HOW TO START A FIRE is a group exhibition curated by Anni Porrasmäki, featuring 18 artists working across photography, painting, printmaking, installation, video, drawing, text, and sculpture.
Like fire, a person lives, pulsates with the beat of existence, and eventually extinguishes. Amidst approaching and ongoing destruction—both personal and global—how do we create an unbreakable bond in a destructive world?
The works offer reflections on death, mortality, grief, and religion, moving through the apocalyptic toward alienation, intimacy, nostalgia, and illness.
Darkness descends and colors disappear from the picture—but the darkness was already here yesterday.
how to start a fire without causing destruction?
